ACCC has developed a medical wallet card for patients on immunotherapy for cancer.

Early recognition and prompt management of immune-related adverse events (irAEs) are integral to the effective delivery of immunotherapy for cancer. For patients, knowing who to call, when to call, and what immunotherapy they are receiving or have received is essential.

When a trip to an Emergency Department (ED) is required, clear communication and care coordination between ED clinicians and the treating oncologist are critical to expedite appropriate management of irAEs.

Equipping IO patients with a medical wallet card that states the individual is treated with immunotherapy for cancer, the warning signs of common irAEs, and 24/7 contact information for the treating oncology team eases the burden for patients and caregivers in an emergent situation.

To help, the ACCC Immuno-Oncology Institute has developed a medical wallet card for patients on immunotherapy for cancer. A downloadable print-ready PDF enables cancer programs & practices to have copies printed.
