Sanofi offers the CareASSIST program to patients prescribed Elitek, Jevtana, or Sarclisa. CareASSIST offers access and financial assistance for eligible patients prescribed certain Sanofi Genzyme medications.

Reimbursement Assistance

CareASSIST®

CareASSIST patient access specialists may be able to assess insurance coverage and identify options for patients. They can assist with the following:

Financial assistance

  • CareASSIST Copay Program: Eligible, commercially insured patients may pay as little as $0 for their prescribed medication, including any product-specific copay and coinsurance — up to $25,000 in assistance per calendar year.
  • CareASSIST Patient Assistance Program: Patients who are uninsured or underinsured and meet certain program eligibility requirements can receive medication at no cost from Sanofi Cares North America.

Access & reimbursement

  • The care managers assess coverage and identify support options for patients, beginning with insurance verification. They can also assist with prior authorization, denials, and appeals, claims information, coding and billing and resource support.

Resource support

  • The care managers help connect patients to independent support organizations and resources throughout their treatment journey.

Co-Pay Card/Out-Of-Pocket Cost Assistance

CareASSIST® Co-Pay Program

Eligible patients with commercial insurance may pay as little as $0 for their Sanofi medicines, including any product-specific co-pay, coinsurance, and insurance deductibles—up to $25,000 in assistance per year. There is no income requirement for patients in this program.

To be eligible, patients must:

  • Have commercial or private insurance, including state or federal employee plans and health insurance exchanges
  • Be residents of the United States.

CareASSIST must receive reimbursement requests within 120 days of the date of service. Healthcare professionals or patients may also seek reimbursement for treatments received in the 120 days prior to the date of enrollment in the CareASSIST Co-pay Program.

Patient Assistance Program

CareASSIST® Patient Assistance Program

Patients who meet program eligibility requirements can receive their medication at no cost through the patient assistance program.

Eligibility requirements:

  • Patients must be uninsured or lack coverage for their prescribed medication, and patients with Medicare Part B coverage with no supplemental insurance coverage may be eligible.
  • Patients must be a resident of the United States or its territories or possessions and be under the care of a U.S. licensed healthcare provider with a practice in the U.S.
  • Patients must have an annual household income that does not exceed the greater of $100,000 or 500 percent of the current federal poverty level.

A Patient Access Specialist will:

  • Investigate patients’ eligibilty
  • Notify the healthcare provider and their office of patients’ eligibilty and confirm their enrollment
  • Coordinate shipments of medications to the healthcare provider's office and other sites of care
  • Follow up to ensure continued enrollment

Independent Charitable Foundations/Organizations

CareASSIST® Referrals

CareASSIST may be able to identify alternate sources of coverage for patients.

A patient access specialist can help with:

  • Identifying potential alternate coverage programs and explain their benefits to patients
  • Providing contact information
  • Providing a copy of the enrollment form (if available).

Possible alternate coverage sources include Medicaid, state health exchanges, state pharmaceutical assistance programs, and independent charitable foundations.
