Leanne Mendoza is the Patient Financial Services Manager for Diablo Valley Oncology & Hematology Medical Group in Pleasant Hill, CA. She has been with the organization since 2004, gaining experience in multiple departments and is passionate about helping cancer patients along their journey. She started as a medical assistant in the imaging department and assisted in the startup of the radiation oncology department in 2008 when the company moved to a comprehensive cancer center. After supervising the front desk and learning to become a radiation therapy assistant, she was given the opportunity to assist the Chief Operating Officer. As the Operations Support Specialist, she was heavily involved in the administration side of the practice, assisting operations, IT, marketing, and finance departments. Leanne is considered the MOSAIQ Super User by helping the transition to EMR and configuring automated systems to increase efficiencies in patient care.
In 2014, Leanne transferred to the Billing Department, now called the Patient Financial Services Department. She leads a team of 14, overseeing credentialing, patient access, authorizations, financial counseling, billing and collections. Leanne has volunteered at various American Cancer Society Events, such as the ACS Gala, Making Strides for Breast Cancer and she previously served as a Team Captain and Committee Chair for Relay for Life.
