ChristopherMcNair, PhD, is an assistant professor in the Department of Medical Oncologyand currently serves as the director of Cancer Informatics and associatedirector for Data Science at the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center (SKCC) at theThomas Jefferson University Health System. In his current role, he providesinformatics leadership and oversees the maintenance and development oftechnologies and applications for use by the SKCC research population. Thisincludes data capture software, bio-specimen collection tools, research datawarehouse and associated applications, and genomic research data portal, whichacts as a source of aggregate genomic data for the institution.
DrMcNair serves as the co-director for the SKCC’s precision medicine program whichaims to standardize molecular testing across the center, decrease disparitiesin testing, and increase genomic-driven research studies and state of the artclinical trials at SKCC. His early research was performed in the lab of KarenKnudsen, MBA, PhD, EVP of Oncology Services for Jefferson Health and wasfocused on the identification of the molecular alterations underlying prostatecancer development and progression through utilizing genome-wide approaches.
DrMcNair earned his PhD in cell and developmental biology at Thomas JeffersonUniversity and his bachelor’s degree in biotechnology at James MadisonUniversity.
