Kimberly King-Spohn is the director of genetic counseling at Wellstar Health System’s Wellstar Cancer Program in Marietta, Georgia. She is a board-certified genetic counselor and led the creation and development of the hereditary cancer risk assessment program at WellStar. She also serves as an adjunct professor for the Emory University Genetic Counseling Training program where she has lectured on hereditary colon cancer syndromes since the inception of the program in 2013.
King-Spohn previously served as the coordinator of Genetics Services at the Family Health Council of Central Pennsylvania. She coordinated grants for the state’s Department of Health to provide genetics services through Women’s Health centers within the state. She has served as the inaugural chair of the Georgia Cancer Genetics Network, has been awarded the National Society of Genetic Counselors Abstract of the Year Award and has presented numerous abstracts at professional conferences.
King-Spohn earned her master’s degree in genetic counseling from Arcadia University and her bachelor’s degree from Penn State University. She is board certified and licensed to provide genetic counseling in the state of Georgia.
