Kevin Cassel, DrPH, MPH, is an assistant professor and researcher in the Population Sciences in the Pacific Program at the University of Hawaii Cancer Center, Hawaii. He has over 25 years of experience educating patients with cancer, the public, and health care providers on effective cancer prevention and control strategies. Dr. Cassel uses community-based participatory research methods to help address the critical cancer prevention and control issues of population groups who are experiencing cancer health disparities. His research focus is to adapt and implement proven cancer control interventions with fidelity. Dr. Cassel’s studies have tested the effectiveness of these evidence-based interventions modified for use in resource-limited settings and fitted to suit the unique cultural factors relevant to United States affiliated Pacific Island populations.
