Bradley C. Carthon, MD, PhD, is interim director of the division of medical oncology and an associate professor in Emory University School of Medicine's department of hematology and medical oncology in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Carthon also serves as section chief of hematology and oncology at Emory University Hospital Midtown. He works with the genitourinary oncology team at Winship Cancer Institute in Druid Hills, Georgia to discover novel therapeutic targets and carry out clinical trials that utilize novel treatment combinations for patients with prostate, bladder, and renal, and other genitourinary malignancies. Dr. Carthon is a member of the Discovery and Developmental Therapeutics research program at Winship Cancer Institute. He is also a member of the Annual Meeting Education Committee for American Society of Clinical Oncology. Dr. Carthon has served as an ASCO University Faculty member and as a member of the ASCO PSA Screening Task Force. He is currently a member of the ASCO Annual Meeting Education Committee for Prostate Cancer and is a member of the NRG Cooperative Group Early Phase Clinical Trials Safety Committee.
Dr. Carthon earned his BS at Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia and went on to receive his doctoral degrees from Harvard Medical School and Harvard University. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.
